DISTANT LEARNING

We believe that our approach to distance learning — 95% distant — gives you the best opportunity to complete your course
requirements, balance personal, career, and educational needs, and manage your educational expenses.

HOW DOES OUR DISTANT PROGRAMME WORKS

As a Learner, you are provided a variety of materials and resources for each course, including a course syllabus, textbooks
and reference materials, access to the Electronic Learning Resources Center, and access to communicate with the
assigned Faculty Mentor. As you progress in the course, the Faculty Mentor provides guidance, answers questions, and
evaluates your work. You may use a variety of communication forums to contact your Faculty Mentor, including telephone,
voice-mail, fax, e-mail, regular mail, and on occasion — person to person contact.

Each course you take will be focused on specific learning objectives and outcomes. Your course syllabus will articulate the
educational achievements expected, and your Faculty Mentor will be there to help you accomplished the course objectives.

Colbourne’s alternative to the traditional classroom setting — structured times with students and faculty face to face — is
comfortable for many, our distance learning program is much more dynamic than the correspondence school days of the
past.

BENEFITS
•        The flexibility of completing assignments at your own pace and on schedule.

•        The support and direction of Faculty Mentors who are able to provide one-on-one help, and suitable literature.

•        Fulfilling course requirements and the ability to complete your course in the desired fields.

•        The Ability to Complete your Courses early and accelerate your education

At Colbourne you can complete each course at a pace that is comfortable for
you.

Our academic term is twelve  weeks long, and each course is designed to be completed in twelve weeks. However, we are
flexible. You can, if you choose, finish sooner and begin your next course more quickly. Just work one-on-one with your Faculty
Mentor, who will help you finish your assignments and complete the course on your schedule.

This flexibility can help you schedule your education around your career and important family events. You can also schedule
course starts more frequently if you choose — say, every eight weeks — and accelerate your progress toward graduation.

For more information about our flexible term lengths, talk to your Academic Advisor.
