     DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM AND    
       HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT

The Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management offers certificates, career
diplomas, undergraduate Diplomas and Associate Degrees in Tourism and Hospitality
Management designed to lead to a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, with major
in Travel and Tourism Management.  Certificates and other career programs in Travel,
Tourism and Hospitality are also offered.  

Students studying for their Diploma or Degree receive a comprehensive theoretical basis
supported by practical experience in hotels, resorts, clubs, restaurants, airlines, travel
agencies and cruise lines that provides the necessary skills needed to qualify or advance
their career in the tourism/hospitality industry.

The curriculum is current, applicable and flexible and is directly related to the needs of the
industry.  

All Degree programs offered at Colbourne are founded on the liberal arts principle which
provides a solid basis in a wide distribution of subjects deemed necessary for every
enlightened citizen.

Students in this faculty benefit from a number of International Awards including the
opportunity to earn the Cambridge International Diploma, a British Qualification.  Other
Certifications are also available from institutions accredited by the American Council on
Education.

Students pursue specializations in their field of interest.

Colbourne undergraduates are provided practical work experience with classroom theory
through our structured internship program - experiential learning, which offers diverse
opportunities to the students to gain both a theoretical and a practical insight of their field.  
The internship undertaken by the students are pertinent to the current business
environment and are administered by qualified lecturers.

All students pursing undergraduate programmes in the department are also eligible
to enter for the
Cambridge International Diploma in Business (Advance
Level).  

Cambridge Awards are accepted as international qualifications recognised in over
150 countries worldwide.
