| This major provides an interdisciplinary approach to International Studies. The students are exposed to a curriculum that’s diverse and appropriate for advancement to a Bachelors Degree Programme. Students pursuing their undergraduate degree in International Studies will complete 32 Credits in Core Subjects including 12 Credits in Spanish or French and 33 credits in the General Studies Areas. MAJOR/CORE COURSES 32 Credits COM 304 Intercultural Communication IR 101 Introduction to International Relations IS 201 Global Issues GEO 201 Human Geography LAW 302 International Law BA 324 International Business Foreign Language Requirement Prerequisite: Beginners level Spanish or Beginners level French Student must complete a 12 hours requirement involving studies in a foreign language and its history with minimum equivalence to two years of college or university basic language instruction. SPA 103 Semi-Intensive Elementary Spanish 1 SPA 104 Semi-Intensive Elementary Spanish 11 SPA 201 Intermediate Conversation and Grammar SPA 202 Intermediate Conversation and Grammar OR FRE 103 Semi-Intensive Elementary French 1 FRE 104 Semi-Intensive Elementary French 11 FRE 201 Intermediate Conversation and Grammar 1 FRE 202 Intermediate Conversation and Grammar 11 Study Abroad Requirement Student must complete a requisite study abroad experience equivalent to at least two credits. This requirement can be met by using more than one study abroad experience. Capstone Experience Requirement Students must complete an approved research project reflecting their area of concentration and interest. This is a significant research project that focuses on a particular country, region, or global area and contributes to the coursework Grade. |
