    What is an MBA Degree?
The MBA (Master of Business Administration) is a postgraduate degree that is awarded to students who have
mastered the study of business. The MBA degree is thought to be one of the most prestigious and sought after
degrees in the world. Students of MBA programs study the theory and application of business and
management principles. This type of study equips students with knowledge that can be applied to a variety of
real world business and management situations.

    Why Get an MBA Degree?
The main reason to attend school is to increase your salary potential and advance your career. Because
graduates who hold Master's Degrees are eligible for jobs that would not be offered to those who hold only a
high school diploma, an MBA/MSc Degree is almost a necessity in today’s business world.  In most cases, an
MBA/MSc degree is required for executive and senior management positions. There are some companies
who will not even consider applicants unless they have a Master's Degree. People who hold an MBA/MSc
degree will find that there are many different types of employment opportunities that are available to them.

What Can You Do With a Master's Degree?
Many MBA programs offer an education in general management along with a more specialized curriculum.
Because this type of education is relevant to all industries and sectors, it will be valuable regardless of the
career that is chosen after graduation.

What Make Colbourne College So Right for You

    Post Graduate Degree and Diploma
The Graduate Diploma to Masters Degree Pathway at Colbourne College is a cost effective and time efficient
path to a UK University Master of Business Administration Degree or Master of Science Degree.

Successful Learners in the Programme will earn a UK Higher Professional Post Graduate Diploma (PgD)
accredited by the UK Government's Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual).  Holders of
this prestigious Level 7 Diploma (Extended Diploma in Management and Leadership) will apply for
streamlined entry into an Accredited  and Recognised MBA/MSc top-up programme such as the University of
Wales (see RDI), University of  Greenwich, Southampton Solent University, University of Northampton, and
the University of Gloucestershire with a minimum of 120 of the required 180 Credits for the Masters Degree.
Graduates of the PgD can seek to study online (e.g RDI online for the University of Wales MBA)  or study in
the UK for two weeks to six months in residence at the University.

Why it is important to choose the PgD Route to the Master Degree
It is more affordable and time efficient way to enter the Masters Program.  Getting a Master's degree is
expensive. In some cases, the cost of an MBA degree is four times as much as the average yearly salary.
Tuition costs will vary depending upon the school and the program that you choose. Luckily, financial aid is
available to MBA students. Our Post Graduate Diploma to Post Graduate Degree journey takes approximately
12-16 months for completion at a cost of approximately GBP300 per module for the PgD (11 Modules).
Upon completing the PgD, learners in the program may just be required to complete a Dissertation and two
further study modules online or on campus in the UK for the MBA/MSc.  This is called the Master's Degree
'top-up'.  Students on the MBA journey may be eligible for a personal laptop for 12 months.   Students
successfully completing the PgD earns the Professional (Level 7) Diploma in Strategic Management and
Leadership accredited by Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulations (Ofqual).  Learners will then
progress to the UK University Masters Degree Top-up Program  of choice.

Are you Qualified to Apply for the PgD?
    All Applicants seeking Admission must have;
  • minimum of two years relevant work experience prior to the start of the Post Graduate Diploma.
  • a good Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, or a relevant 10 years professional qualification and experience.

    * Candidates seeking admission without a Bachelors Degree will apply through the RPL
Programme designed for Mature students of 25 years and older with 10 years valid, sufficient
and reliable employment history, who wish to pursue the Post Graduate Diploma but do not
    have a Bachelor's Degree.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an internationally recognized method of assessment
(leading to the award of credit) that recognizes learners’ achievements and experiences at work,
as well as in the classroom.
