An integral part of the College program, Student Services caters to the academic, spiritual and social wellbeing of
the student and chiefly in increasing self esteem.   In furtherance, Student Services is involved in career
counseling, job placements and student development exercises in the form of seminars, workshops, experiential
learning and field trips.   The Student Services Office (SSO) is responsible for student development services and
programs at Colbourne. The functional areas comprising the SSO include programs and services in induction;
career services; health services; counseling; financial aid programs; services for students with disabilities;
alcohol and drug abuse prevention, and counseling; student organizations; student government; cultural
programming; recreational and athletic programming.

Mission Statement
The Student Services Office (SSO) is committed to providing both academic and nonacademic support to all
Colbourne students.

The Student Services Office (SSO) aims to, through various activities and undertakings, serve as an arbiter in
aiding the development of the whole Colbourne student – as an academic, social and spiritual being - through
providing opportunity for growth in the aforementioned areas via various resources at its disposal.

The SSO serves as (in collaboration with faculty, staff, and administration) an advocate for all students. It also
functions as a resource for students with college-related student issues.

Vision Statement
In total fulfillment of the mission of the SSO; the Office will grow as the center of contact, resource and dialogue     
for not only students, but also for faculty, staff and administration as they seek to develop meaningful productive  
relationships with the whole Colbourne student.
