HISTORY OF THE COLLEGE
Founded in 1996, Advanced Educational Services commenced operations in Kingston, Jamaica, offering
courses in customer care. In December 2000, Caribbean Life International Institute, a branch business
was established, extending our training services to Montego Bay. The core aim of our operation was to
provide a locally delivered course, at the highest international standard. This was achieved when our
institution forged an important alliance with the University of Cambridge International Examinations, under
the Governance of the Overseas Examination Council and the Ministry of Education.
With continued commitment, Caribbean Life International Institute paved the way for the move which was
inevitable; the upgrading of our services to meet higher educational standards, at the tertiary level.
Colbourne was born out of the need for tertiary educational facilities in Savanna-la-Mar, and the continued
need for affordable, international qualifications. With its commitment to higher education, Colbourne rests
its philosophy on the belief that students must develop the ability to think and express themselves clearly.
As a result, all courses are founded on the study of humanities and the liberal arts. Students are not only
provided with intrinsic knowledge of the course of study, but are trained to understand the important role
played by underlying social, cultural, economic, and political values and to make strategic decisions that
consider these factors.
Colbourne has received good initial reviews. Our outreach community involvements have positively
impacted on the community. We pride ourselves in our high commitment to quality and our consistent
approach to development.
